EXECUTIVE CLINICAL DIRECTOR, CO-FOUNDER
Hans Chr. Hoeck, MD, PhD
Dr. Hoeck is the Co-Founder of Future Medical Research. He has extensive senior clinical experience both as a clinician and scientist. Dr. Hoeck has served as the Principal Investigator on investigator initiated and industry sponsored studies from Phase I-IV. He has worked as a senior executive in the biopharmaceutical industry for over 15 years with a privilege to share leadership with research sites in both Europe, Asia and Latin America. Dr. Hoeck has been supporting SCRS from the early beginning and currently serves on the SCRS Leadership Council.
Dr. Hoeck holds a MD degree from the University of Southern Denmark and is a board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology & Diabetes. Dr. Hoeck has a PhD in medicine from Copenhagen University, Denmark, with a thesis attributed to the diagnosis of growth hormone deficiency in adults with hypothalamic and pituitary diseases.
CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER, PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR AND CO-FOUNDER
David T. Turbyfill, DMD, OMFS
Dr. David T. Turbyfill is an Investigator and the Co-Founder of Future Medical Research. He began his professional career in the United States Navy serving as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, reaching the rank of Commander. He was highly decorated during his Naval career for his contributions while serving on both the USS Rushmore and Constellation during the Gulf Wars, as aide to the Chief of the Dental Corp, Department Head for the Pentagon Dental Clinic and Naval Hospital Pensacola, as well as staff at Naval Medical Center San Diego. After departing the Navy, he went into private practice focusing primarily on complex facial reconstruction, in central Florida. He has now transitioned to full time research serving as an investigator on multiple clinical trials and will continue to serve as an investigator and mentor in Future Medical Research.
ASSISTING CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Darla Kelley, RN, BSN
Darla Kelley, RN, BSN, is the Assistant Clinic Director at Future Medical Research, bringing a wealth of experience and strong leadership skills to her role. After graduating from the University of Central Florida with her Bachelor's in Nursing, she began her career on a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit.
Darla has excelled in various Clinical Research roles. As an Infusion and Vaccine RN, she prioritized patient safety and compliance. Serving as a Psychometric Rater, Darla ensured accurate data collection, vital for successful research. Additionally, she actively engaged in community outreach, connecting with diverse populations and fostering awareness of research opportunities. Her experience as a Project Manager showcases leadership skills and adherence to regulatory standards, driving projects to successful completion.
Her dedication to compassionate care and commitment to advancing healthcare make her a valuable asset to our team.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Jason Dyken, MD, MBA
Dr. Jason Dyken is a seasoned professional with a unique blend of medical expertise and financial acumen. He earned his M.D. from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 1991 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in 1994. Dr. Dyken's medical career spans over two decades, during which he served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and held leadership positions including Chief of Staff at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Dyken pursued an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, graduating with honors in 1997. His unique combination of medical and business knowledge allowed him to establish the very successful Dyken Wealth Strategies, where he currently serves as President and CEO.
Dr. Dyken's leadership extends beyond his professional endeavors. He has been an elected member of the Gulf Shores City Council since 2008, chairing the Finance Committee and overseeing a $70 million annual budget. His community involvement also includes serving on the Gulf Shores International Airport Authority Board and the Gulf Coast Healthcare Advisory Board.
With his extensive background in medicine, business, and public service, Dr. Dyken brings a wealth of experience and a strategic perspective to the role of CFO for Future Medical Research.
MEDICAL DIRECTOR AND PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR
Mayra Abreu, MD
Dr. Mayra Abreu contributes to Future Medical Research an extensive and varied background in Family Medicine, Clinical Research, and Aesthetic medicine. After completing her bachelor’s degree in Biology, she earned her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where she graduated with honors.
Following medical school, Dr. Abreu completed a General Surgery internship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She later transitioned to a Family Medicine residency at AdventHealth Orlando after recognizing her calling for the practice of preventive and comprehensive medicine. Dr. Abreu has over a decade of experience practicing Family Medicine serving diverse communities in different practice settings.
In 2020 her passion for medical innovation and patient education led her to the field of Clinical Research where she has served as a Principal Investigator for clinical studies in the areas of memory loss, infectious disease, endocrine and gastrointestinal and pathologies.
Dr. Abreu continues to build her knowledge in these disciplines of medicine and prides herself on making a true connection with her patients by promoting preventative care, long-term health, and innovative healthcare solutions.
PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR
Shaunda Kelly, DMD, MD
Dr. Kelly is a dual trained physician in both dentistry and medicine. She has always been involved with academics and research, having served as Chief of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the VA Medical Center in Birmingham Alabama as well as Assistant Professor, at the University of Alabama in Birmingham Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a fellow and board member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a candidate diplomate with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and a member of the Southeastern Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Kelly is currently providing full scope Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical care in her private practice. She has partnered with Future Medical Research to continue her research interests in surgery, pain management, sleep medicine, and medical devices.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Brooke Barry, BSc
Brooke Barry serves as Business Development Manager at Future Medical Research. Brooke holds a Bachelor's of Science in Business Management with a minor in Sustainability Studies from the University of Florida.
Brooke brings experience in healthcare and business domains, and she has showcased passion and resilience for integrating business strategies into healthcare solutions.
Brooke will be assisting with our Business Development initiatives, working in collaboration with our Marketing Team to drive strategic growth. In addition, Brooke will be leveraging her expertise to accomplish the implementation of innovative processes and procedures to enhance workflows and elevate each participant’s clinical experience.
INVESTIAGATOR
Nilma Z Elias Santiago, DPT
Dr. Nilma Santiago has dedicated 19 years to advancing the field of physical therapy. She earned her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Puerto Rico in 2005 and completed a post-professional Doctorate in Physical Therapy from AT Still University in Arizona in 2010. That same year, she achieved the board Wound Care Certification with the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy Management, followed by Certified Lymphedema Therapist status in 2011, and became an Ostomy Management Specialist in 2015.
Dr. Santiago is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and its Private Practice Section, as well as the Academy of Clinical Electrophysiology and Wound Management. She has also served on the advisory board of Evergreen Certifications for wound care, presented PESI’s 2022 Wound Care Summit, and the College of Health Allied Professions of the University of Puerto Rico in 2016 continued education courses in wound management and lymphedema.
She owns Integumentary Physiotherapy Clinic in Longwood, Florida, an outpatient physical therapy practice where she specializes in lymphedema, wound care, and ostomy management. Dr. Santiago remains committed to her professional growth by continuously seeking new knowledge and skills to enhance her practice and ensure the best outcomes for her patients.
Dr. Santiago's extensive experience includes roles as a clinical research specialist, where she has published articles and presented posters at notable conferences such as the World Confederation of Physical Therapy in 2003, and the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses in 2018. Despite these professional accomplishments, her greatest satisfaction is helping patients heal and improve their quality of life.
LEAD CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR
Karen Selby, RN, MBA
Karen Selby, RN, MBA, is the nation’s most trusted mesothelioma resource. Since 2009, she has brought over 30 years of nursing, oncology, and leadership experience to thousands of mesothelioma patients and their loved ones. She is a world-renowned expert allowing her to assist patients diagnosed with asbestos and non-asbestos respiratory illnesses. In this capacity, Karen appeared on the Lifetime TV show “The Balancing Act” to raise awareness about mesothelioma and asbestos-related diseases.
Karen has also had an extensive background in thoracic and gastrointestinal oncology. Karen has assisted surgeons with lung resections, lung transplants, pneumonectomies, pleurectomy decortication surgeries, wedge resections, and other lung-related and gastrointestinal oncology surgeries.
Karen managed a University of Florida tissue procurement program as well as been deeply involved with clinical research. Future Medical Research is lucky to have her vast knowledge and background as a resource.

Suzanne Turbyfill
Suzanne brings twenty plus years of experience in education, personnel recruitment, and human resources. Her diverse background and positive personality are perfect for her role in selecting and training new members and seamlessly blending them into our expanding network of sites. Ruthza Saintil
Ruthza Saintil is a Laboratory Technician at Future Medical Research, bringing a wealth of experience to the role. With eight years of experience in the plasma industry and sixteen years in laboratory settings, Ruthza has developed a strong foundation in clinical research. Her extensive background in healthcare significantly contributes to the success and advancement of Future Medical Research’s projects.
MARKETING DIRECTOR
Line Passer Hoeck, MSc
Line serves as Marketing Director at Future Medical Research. Line has a background as a Graphic Designer and holds a Master of Science in Engineering in Architecture and Design from Aalborg University, Denmark.
Line has a long experience in the healthcare industry as Marketing Administrator at CCBR Clinical Research and as Marketing Director at Trialcare Research. Line will be leading our branding initiatives, assisting our Business Development team, and working in close collaboration with our Patient Recruitment team to provide new possible treatment opportunities to patients in need.
ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR
Camille Bosworth, BSc
Camille Bosworth serves as the Administrative Coordinator at Future Medical Research. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Florida.
In her role, Camille will support daily operations and oversee innovative procedures and processes across the clinic. Additionally, she will provide essential administrative support for clinical research activities and serve as the first point of contact for all of our participants entering the clinic.
Camille’s background in cardiology and her commitment to patient-centered care make her a valuable addition to our team.

Iman Banks-Tillman
Iman Banks-Tillman, MPH, is a dedicated research and healthcare professional with a strong background in clinical science and public health. She holds a Master’s in Public Health and has experience in both research and healthcare settings, where she has contributed to advancing medical knowledge and patient care. Her expertise includes laboratory research, data analysis, and evidence-based healthcare practices.
With a passion for bridging the gap between research and patient outcomes, Iman is committed to advancing scientific discoveries that improve healthcare delivery. She continues to expand her expertise through hands-on research and professional development, striving to make meaningful contributions to the field.
